eSIM is an abbreviation for embedded Subscriber Identity Module. Unlike a physical USIM that can be inserted and removed, it refers to a virtual SIM embedded in a mobile phone.

1) Check with Mobile Phone Settings - ‘Add eSIM’
- For iPhone, check [Settings - Cellular - ‘Add eSIM’]
- For Android, check [Settings - Connection - SIM Manager - ‘Add eSIM’]

2) If you enter *#06# in the basic phone app and the eSIM IMEI or EID starting with ‘89...’ appears, it means that the mobile phone can install and use eSIM.

When you change your device, the eSIM ID value changes and you need to get a new one. A reissue fee of 2,750 won will be charged.

Ksimcard automatically roams.
Your device must support roaming, and when you visit the country, you can use it by rebooting the power and roaming.
When using roaming data overseas, the cost is much higher than domestic costs, so before leaving the country, you must contact the customer center 114 (free), SKT customer center: 1670-9114 (paid), LGU+ customer center: 1600-5281 (paid), KT customer center: 1877-5281 (paid) to request roaming data blocking to prevent huge charges due to roaming data.

Prepaid/postpaid plan subscribers must have the following items.

1. Regidence card (외국인 등록증)
2. Online identity verification method (PASS, Kakao, Naver, etc.)
3. Credit card issued in Korea in your name or Bank account issued in Korea in your name

If you don’t have any of the above items, you can only sign up for the Traveler’s Plan online.

The number registered under the name of the residence card can be used for identity verification, whether prepaid or postpaid. (Offline passport subscribers are not eligible)

Very slow. KakaoTalk text transmission is possible, image transmission is slow, 240p video viewing is possible

1Mbps

Slightly slow. KakaoTalk text transmission is possible, image transmission is slow, 480p video viewing is possible

3Mbps

Normal. Text or large-capacity image transmission is possible, 720p video viewing is possible

5Mbps

Fast. Text or large-capacity image transmission is possible, 1080p video viewing is possible

You can check it through “Expiration date info and recharge” in the menu button.

Some foreign phones may not be supported. (Huawei, Xiaomi, Google Pixel, etc.)
